Paxobrook 150 mg + 100 mg is a fixed-combination oral antiviral medicine containing nirmatrelvir and ritonavir. How It Works
Nirmatrelvir inhibits the viral main protease needed for SARS-CoV-2 replication. Ritonavir does not provide the main antiviral effect against COVID-19; instead, it helps increase nirmatrelvir exposure by inhibiting CYP3A metabolism.
Important Safety Information
This medicine has clinically important drug interactions. Regulatory labels warn against use with medicines that are highly dependent on CYP3A for clearance and where increased concentrations may cause serious or life-threatening reactions, as well as with strong CYP3A inducers that may reduce antiviral activity. The label also warns about the need to review all concomitant medicines, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter products and herbal supplements.
