Description
Vega-extra cobra (Sildenafil) 120 mg
Vega-extra cobra 120 mg is identified by its listed active ingredient, sildenafil. Sildenafil is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor used for erectile dysfunction in adult men. The product is described as an oral jelly; however, the medicine’s verified clinical profile is based on sildenafil itself, not on the brand presentation.
Active Ingredient and Medicine Class
Active ingredient: sildenafil.
Medicine class: phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor.
Sildenafil is a vasodilating medicine that acts on the nitric oxide–cGMP pathway in erectile tissue.
Established Medical Uses
Sildenafil is established for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Regulatory labeling for sildenafil tablets supports this indication, and clinical studies show improved erectile function compared with placebo in men with erectile dysfunction.
How It Works
Sildenafil inhibits PDE5, an enzyme that breaks down cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). By slowing cGMP breakdown, it helps amplify the natural smooth-muscle relaxation process triggered by nitric oxide in the penis, which supports blood flow needed for an erection.
Important Safety Information
Sildenafil is contraindicated with nitrates and nitric oxide donors because the combination can cause a marked fall in blood pressure. Caution is also required with alpha-blockers and other blood-pressure-lowering medicines because of additive hypotensive effects.
Labeling also warns about use in people with cardiovascular disease, low resting blood pressure, severe left ventricular outflow obstruction, recent vision loss concerns such as non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy, and hypersensitivity reactions.
Sildenafil should not be used together with other PDE5 inhibitors or with sildenafil-containing products for pulmonary arterial hypertension.
Possible Side Effects
Common adverse effects include headache, flushing, nasal congestion, dyspepsia, dizziness, nausea, back pain, myalgia and abnormal vision. More serious reactions reported in labeling include priapism, sudden vision loss, hearing problems, severe hypotension and hypersensitivity reactions.
Scientific Evidence
Systematic reviews and meta-analyses of randomized trials found that sildenafil improves erectile function more than placebo and is generally well tolerated, with most adverse effects being mild to moderate.
