Description
Extra super avana (Avanafil + Dapoxetine) 200 mg + 60 mg
Extra super avana is presented as an oral combination of avanafil 200 mg and dapoxetine 60 mg. Based on authoritative prescribing information for the two ingredients, avanafil is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor used for erectile dysfunction, while dapoxetine is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor used for premature ejaculation. The fixed-dose combination itself could not be verified as a standard regulated medicine in the sources reviewed, so the information below is based on the established evidence for the two active ingredients.
Active Ingredient and Medicine Class
Avanafil is a PDE5 inhibitor. This class of medicine helps increase blood flow to the penis in the presence of sexual stimulation and is used for erectile dysfunction.
Dapoxetine is a short-acting selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. It is used to improve control over ejaculation and is associated with treatment of premature ejaculation in adult men.
Established Medical Uses
Avanafil is indicated for the treatment of erectile dysfunction in adult males.
Dapoxetine is used for the treatment of premature ejaculation in adult men, typically in the age range described in official European product information. The combination of a PDE5 inhibitor with dapoxetine has been studied in men who have both erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation, but the presence of clinical research does not by itself establish the fixed-dose product as an approved medicine.
How It Works
Avanafil works by inhibiting PDE5, which supports the nitric oxide-cGMP pathway involved in relaxation of smooth muscle and increased blood flow in penile tissue. Sexual stimulation is still required for its effect.
Dapoxetine acts on serotonin transporters, increasing serotonin signaling in pathways involved in ejaculatory control. Its short-acting profile makes it suitable for on-demand use in the research and regulatory settings where it has been studied.
Important Safety Information
Avanafil must not be used with organic nitrates because of the risk of a dangerous fall in blood pressure. It is also contraindicated with guanylate cyclase stimulators such as riociguat, and it requires caution with alpha-blockers, antihypertensive medicines, alcohol, and strong CYP3A4 inhibitors.
Dapoxetine should not be used in several high-risk situations, including certain heart rhythm or heart problems, a history of fainting, moderate or severe liver impairment, and concomitant use with medicines that can raise the risk of serotonin toxicity or affect its metabolism. Caution is also warranted with other serotonergic medicines and some CYP3A4 inhibitors.
Because both ingredients can contribute to dizziness or blood-pressure-related effects, combined use may require careful medical review of cardiovascular status and concurrent medicines.
Possible Side Effects
Common adverse effects reported with avanafil include headache, flushing, nasal congestion, back pain, and nasopharyngitis. Important serious risks include prolonged erection, sudden vision changes, and sudden hearing loss.
Common adverse effects reported with dapoxetine include nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhoea, somnolence, and insomnia. More serious concerns include fainting, serotonin syndrome, and mood-related adverse effects in susceptible individuals.
Scientific Evidence
Clinical trials and systematic reviews support avanafil as an effective PDE5 inhibitor for erectile dysfunction, with improvements in erectile function outcomes compared with placebo. Research has also shown that dapoxetine can increase intravaginal ejaculatory latency time and improve patient-reported control over ejaculation compared with placebo.
A phase III study in men with premature ejaculation and concomitant erectile dysfunction who were already using a PDE5 inhibitor found that adding dapoxetine improved ejaculatory outcomes and was generally tolerated. These findings support the scientific rationale for combining the two ingredients, but they do not replace formal regulatory evaluation of any specific fixed-dose product.
