Important Safety Information
Sildenafil must not be used with organic nitrates or other nitric oxide donors, because the combination can cause a marked fall in blood pressure. It is also contraindicated with riociguat and in people with known hypersensitivity to sildenafil or any tablet ingredient. ED medicines should generally not be used when sexual activity is medically inadvisable because of cardiovascular status. Caution is also needed with alpha-blockers, strong CYP3A4 inhibitors such as ritonavir, ketoconazole, itraconazole or erythromycin, and in some patients with hepatic impairment, severe renal impairment, or older age because exposure may be increased.
Possible Side Effects
Common adverse effects reported with sildenafil include headache, flushing, indigestion/dyspepsia, nasal congestion and visual changes. More serious reactions can include symptomatic hypotension, hypersensitivity reactions, and rare cardiovascular or other urgent events that require immediate medical attention.
