Description
Fildena super active (Sildenafil) 100 mg
Fildena super active appears to be a sildenafil 100 mg soft-gel product. Sildenafil is a well-established medicine for erectile dysfunction. Because brand names can vary by market, the active ingredient should be verified on the package and official product information before use.
Active Ingredient and Medicine Class
The verified active ingredient is sildenafil, a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor. This class of medicine increases blood flow in the penis by enhancing the nitric oxide–cGMP pathway.
Established Medical Uses
Sildenafil is established for the treatment of erectile dysfunction in adult men. Official prescribing information and clinical reviews describe its use for erectile dysfunction of organic, psychogenic, or mixed causes.
How It Works
Sildenafil selectively inhibits PDE5, an enzyme that breaks down cGMP. By preserving cGMP activity, it helps relax smooth muscle in the corpus cavernosum and supports an erection in response to sexual stimulation.
Important Safety Information
Sildenafil is contraindicated with nitrates and guanylate cyclase stimulators such as riociguat because of the risk of marked blood pressure lowering. It should also not be used in people with known hypersensitivity to sildenafil. Prescribing information warns about cardiovascular risk in patients for whom sexual activity is inadvisable. Clinically important interactions include alpha-blockers, antihypertensive medicines, ritonavir, and other strong CYP3A4 inhibitors, which can increase exposure or worsen hypotension. Use with other PDE5 inhibitors or other erectile dysfunction therapies is not recommended.
Possible Side Effects
Common adverse effects include headache, flushing, dyspepsia, nasal congestion, abnormal vision, back pain, myalgia, nausea, dizziness, and rash. Serious reactions reported in labeling include prolonged erection or priapism, sudden vision changes, hearing loss, and symptomatic hypotension.
Scientific Evidence
Peer-reviewed reviews and meta-analyses have found sildenafil to be effective for erectile dysfunction across different causes, with benefit over placebo and a generally predictable safety profile. The clinical literature also supports the main adverse effects listed in prescribing information.
