Description

Super Vilitra

Super Vilitra is a fixed-dose combination product identified as containing vardenafil and dapoxetine. The combination is intended to address two male sexual health conditions: erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation. The individual ingredients have established medical use as separate medicines, but the exact trade-name product should be interpreted according to local regulatory status and the product information supplied by the manufacturer.

Active Ingredient and Medicine Class

Vardenafil is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor. It is used for erectile dysfunction. Dapoxetine is a short-acting selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) developed for premature ejaculation.

Established Medical Uses

Vardenafil is indicated for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Dapoxetine has been studied and used for premature ejaculation, including men with concomitant erectile dysfunction who were already using a PDE5 inhibitor. Clinical evidence shows that dapoxetine can increase intravaginal ejaculatory latency time and improve patient-reported control over ejaculation.

How It Works

Vardenafil enhances the normal erectile response by inhibiting PDE5, which increases smooth-muscle relaxation and blood flow in the penis during sexual stimulation. Dapoxetine increases serotonin activity in the nervous system, which can help delay ejaculation.

Important Safety Information

Vardenafil should not be used with nitrates, and it is contraindicated with some medicines that strongly affect vardenafil metabolism. It is also not suitable for people in whom sexual activity is inadvisable because of cardiovascular status. Dapoxetine has important serotonergic safety concerns, including interaction risk with MAO inhibitors and other serotonergic medicines, and it may also interact with medicines that affect its metabolism. Regulatory labeling and reviews note that both components require caution in patients with cardiovascular disease or significant comorbidity.

Possible Side Effects

Reported adverse effects for vardenafil include headache, flushing, rhinitis, dyspepsia and other class-related effects. Dapoxetine commonly causes nausea, dizziness, somnolence, headache, diarrhoea and insomnia; postural dizziness has also been reported. Serious reactions can occur, including syncope and serotonin syndrome with dapoxetine, and significant cardiovascular or visual adverse effects with PDE5 inhibitors.

Scientific Evidence

Randomized trials support vardenafil for improving erectile function and dapoxetine for improving ejaculatory control. A placebo-controlled phase III study in men with premature ejaculation and concomitant erectile dysfunction treated with a PDE5 inhibitor found that dapoxetine improved ejaculatory latency and patient-rated outcomes. Evidence for the fixed-dose combination itself is more limited than the evidence for the two ingredients separately.
