Description

Cenforce d

Cenforce d is identified as a combination product containing sildenafil and dapoxetine. Sildenafil is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor used for erectile dysfunction, and dapoxetine is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) developed for premature ejaculation. This combination is intended to address both conditions in men who have erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation.

Active Ingredient and Medicine Class

Sildenafil belongs to the PDE5 inhibitor class. Dapoxetine is a short-acting SSRI. Official sources describe dapoxetine as a serotonin reuptake inhibitor that increases serotonin signalling, while sildenafil enhances the nitric oxide/cGMP pathway in penile tissue to support erectile response.

Established Medical Uses

Sildenafil is established for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Dapoxetine has been evaluated and authorised in some regions for the treatment of premature ejaculation in adult men. Clinical studies also support the use of dapoxetine in men with premature ejaculation and concomitant erectile dysfunction, including trials of dapoxetine with a PDE5 inhibitor and studies of fixed-dose sildenafil/dapoxetine combinations.

How It Works

Sildenafil helps increase blood flow to the penis by inhibiting PDE5, which supports the normal erectile response to sexual stimulation. Dapoxetine acts on serotonin transport, which can help delay ejaculation by increasing serotonergic signalling in pathways involved in ejaculatory control.

Important Safety Information

Sildenafil must not be used with organic nitrates or other nitric oxide donors because of the risk of marked blood pressure lowering. It is also contraindicated with riociguat and in people with known hypersensitivity to sildenafil. Caution is needed with alpha-blockers, antihypertensives, and strong CYP3A4 inhibitors, which can increase the risk of hypotension or increase sildenafil exposure.

Dapoxetine should not be taken with MAO inhibitors and certain other serotonergic or psychiatric medicines because of interaction risks, including serotonin toxicity and other clinically significant effects. EMA materials also note important precautions related to syncope, mood disorders, and other patient factors.

Possible Side Effects

Commonly reported effects with sildenafil include headache, flushing, dyspepsia, nasal congestion, dizziness, visual disturbance, and, less commonly, priapism or sudden hearing changes. Dapoxetine studies commonly report nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and orthostatic dizziness; discontinuation can occur because of adverse effects.

Scientific Evidence

Randomized and controlled studies show that dapoxetine improves premature ejaculation outcomes, and combination studies with sildenafil suggest benefit in men with both premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction. The DAP-SPEED study reported improvements in intravaginal ejaculatory latency time, erectile function scores, and patient-reported outcomes, with mostly non-serious adverse events. Broader reviews and meta-analyses also support dapoxetine’s efficacy for premature ejaculation.
