Description

Extra Super P-Force

Extra Super P-Force is a combination medicine identified by the stated ingredients sildenafil and dapoxetine. Sildenafil is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor used for erectile dysfunction, while dapoxetine is a short-acting selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) developed for premature ejaculation. The fixed-dose combination is intended to address both conditions together, but the exact trade name itself is not an established regulatory brand in the sources reviewed.

Active Ingredient and Medicine Class

Sildenafil belongs to the PDE5 inhibitor class. It enhances the nitric oxide–cGMP pathway in penile tissue by preventing cGMP breakdown, which supports smooth muscle relaxation and erection after sexual stimulation. Dapoxetine is a serotonin reuptake inhibitor used on-demand for premature ejaculation.

Established Medical Uses

Sildenafil is established for erectile dysfunction. Dapoxetine is established for premature ejaculation in appropriate adult men, where it has shown improvement in intravaginal ejaculatory latency time and patient-reported control measures in clinical studies and meta-analyses. Evidence for the combination of dapoxetine with a PDE5 inhibitor suggests possible benefit in men with premature ejaculation and concomitant erectile dysfunction, but this is supported mainly by clinical studies rather than broad regulatory approval for a fixed-dose combination.

How It Works

Sildenafil increases the effect of nitric oxide in penile blood vessels, helping relax smooth muscle and improve blood flow during sexual stimulation. Dapoxetine increases serotonin activity in pathways involved in ejaculatory control, which can delay ejaculation. Together, these actions target two different sexual function problems.

Important Safety Information

Sildenafil is contraindicated with nitrates and with riociguat because of the risk of marked hypotension. It also requires caution in people with low blood pressure or other cardiovascular conditions. Dapoxetine has clinically important interaction risks with serotonergic medicines and strong CYP3A4/CYP2D6 inhibitors, and it may cause postural hypotension or syncope. Because both ingredients can affect blood pressure and dizziness, the combination may increase the need for caution in patients with cardiovascular disease or when used with other medicines that lower blood pressure.

Possible Side Effects

Common adverse effects reported with dapoxetine include nausea, dizziness, headache, somnolence, diarrhoea and insomnia. Sildenafil commonly causes headache, flushing, nasal congestion, dyspepsia and visual disturbance; more serious reactions can include hypotension and cardiovascular events in susceptible patients. Combination use may increase some of these effects, especially headache and flushing. Rare but serious reactions can include syncope, serotonin syndrome, and severe hypersensitivity.

Scientific Evidence

Clinical reviews and meta-analyses show that dapoxetine improves premature ejaculation outcomes versus placebo, although the magnitude of benefit is modest. Reviews of sildenafil support its role in erectile dysfunction through PDE5 inhibition. A randomized crossover study found no major pharmacokinetic interaction between dapoxetine and sildenafil, and newer pooled evidence suggests the combination may improve ejaculatory latency and sexual satisfaction compared with dapoxetine alone, at the cost of more adverse effects.
