Description
Extra Super Vegaforce
Extra Super Vegaforce is identified as a combination medicine containing sildenafil and dapoxetine. Sildenafil is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor used for erectile dysfunction, while dapoxetine is a short-acting selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) used for premature ejaculation. The fixed-dose combination is intended to address both conditions, but the exact branded product itself could not be independently verified in official regulatory databases.
Active Ingredient and Medicine Class
Sildenafil belongs to the PDE5 inhibitor class. It increases blood flow in penile tissue by enhancing the nitric oxide–cGMP pathway. Dapoxetine belongs to the SSRI class and acts on serotonin reuptake. It is recognised as an oral treatment for premature ejaculation in adult men.
Established Medical Uses
Sildenafil is established for erectile dysfunction. Dapoxetine is established for premature ejaculation in adult men, with regulatory information describing improvement in time to ejaculation and control over ejaculation. Evidence and guideline summaries also discuss sildenafil and dapoxetine as separate therapies for these sexual dysfunctions.
How It Works
Sildenafil relaxes blood vessel smooth muscle in the penis by blocking PDE5, which helps support erectile response during sexual stimulation. Dapoxetine increases serotonin signalling, which can delay ejaculation and improve ejaculatory control. Published reviews describe dapoxetine as rapidly absorbed and suitable for on-demand use because of its short half-life.
Important Safety Information
Sildenafil is contraindicated with nitrates and nitric oxide donors because of the risk of marked hypotension; it is also contraindicated with riociguat. Caution is required with alpha-blockers, antihypertensives, recent stroke or myocardial infarction, severe cardiac disease, severe hepatic impairment, low blood pressure, and certain eye disorders such as non-arteritic anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy.
Dapoxetine should not be used with monoamine oxidase inhibitors and other serotonergic medicines because of serotonin syndrome risk. It is also contraindicated in patients with significant heart problems, a history of fainting, moderate or severe liver impairment, and certain psychiatric histories noted in official patient information.
Possible Side Effects
Commonly reported adverse effects of dapoxetine include nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhoea, somnolence and insomnia. Sildenafil commonly causes headache, flushing, dizziness, nasal congestion and visual disturbance; serious cardiovascular events and prolonged erection have been reported rarely. Combination therapy may increase some adverse effects associated with each component.
Scientific Evidence
Randomised trials and meta-analyses show that dapoxetine improves intravaginal ejaculatory latency time and patient-reported control over ejaculation compared with placebo, although the average benefit is modest. Sildenafil has long-established efficacy for erectile dysfunction. Recent systematic review evidence suggests that combining a PDE5 inhibitor with dapoxetine may help some men with premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction, but adverse effects can be more frequent than with dapoxetine alone.
